A BRIEF HISTORY | 2002 - 2007  


Fuckface Records began in October 2002 with the free-to-friends release of Bib Gnaw's Live Show Hits For My Friends. What followed was the idea to present Perth experimental artists through a series of free business-card size CD-Rs. Strictly limited, each release of the initial Volume series was dressed in a unique fabric sleeve produced by local in-house designers, MFMIC.

The end of 2004 saw the label move on from the business card format with the creation of a new series, Fuckface Hometapes. The Hometapes series focussed primarily on issuing the home recordings from a small group of improvisors residing in Perth, Western Australia.

All Fuckface releases were free to own but issued in strict limited editions, each distributed by the artist. 

The not-for-profit Fuckface Records label ceased 'business' on Monday 1 January 2007. A new label, Farmer Frontier, will continue in similar fashion to issue improvised experimental music from a wide-range of artists residing in Perth, Western Australia.

Fuckface Records would like to thank all the artists, followers and friends who helped out along the way. We enjoyed radio play, annual noisy Christmas parties, international student intern/work experience requests, abuse and love.
