WHALEHAMMER - SUBTERRANEAN Recorded in late 2007 in one day, Subterranean further builds on WHALEHAMMER's solid repertoire of dark, epic and dreamy journeys. Subterranean tells the story of a subhuman underground mutant, living in darkness, who infects the over-ground populace with poisonous sex spores. Growing desperate for union with another, he meets his demise when enveloped and destroyed by a female of the species. Dynamic and diverse, the sounds flow from enchanting, droney rhythms to futuristic, krauto-cosmic soundscapes as well as cacophonic moments of schizophrenia, altered perception states, desolation and despair. WHALEHAMMER have gained notoriety from their spectacular live performances and relentless recording. Since their formation in early 2007, they have independently recorded and distributed four LPs and played with the likes of the Fabulous Diamonds, Grey Daturas, Lawrence English and Tom Hall.
