aesoteric promotes new electronic, experimental and improvised music in Perth, Western Australia. Since our beginning over five years ago we have shifted venue many times. December 2005 brought an end to our Thursday night residency at the Velvet Lounge, a venue we called our home for over three and a half years. In that time, we've had over 60 unique acts perform live; from debut locals to fully-fledged international artists. We're not finished yet. Our commitment to bring Perth audiences the best in local, national and international artists remains. As well as promoting local music, the aesoteric crew have been involved in hosting national and international guests such as Sutekh, Safety Scissors, Jan Jelinek (aka Farben), Funkstorung, Andrew Pekler, Prefuse 73, Madlib, Peanut Butter Wolf, Pimmon, Qua, Greg Davis, Dan Bell, Smaze, Pita, Triosk and Taylor Deupree. We support diversity and open-mindedness. We aim to increase the audience for good music in Perth and to develop local artists by supporting and promoting them.
